Annual Chef’s Health & Allergy Awareness Kai 2025

Warm Pasifika Greetings to You All

We’re excited to announce the 7th annual Chef’s Health & Allergy Awareness Kai – 2025.

Ana is now recruiting 5 professional chefs to join this year’s special 6-course dining experience.

These events are deeply meaningful – they allow us to get creative, raise awareness, and honour chefs who are committed to creating menus that are lighter, healthier, and free from common food allergens.

While living and working in London from 2012 to 2015, ‘Ana experienced first-hand the impact of compulsory. Allergy Awareness Training under UK law. All food handlers were required to hold a certificate, and every food service provider had to display allergen charts for consumers. This not only supported her daughter Gia’s dietary needs but also inspired chefs to adapt – removing nuts from menus, cooking with oil instead of butter, and introducing more plant-based and vegan options.

Returning home to Aotearoa, ‘Ana saw a gap in allergy awareness and decided to take action.

Through this 6-course Health & Allergy Awareness event, she brings together community, culture, and kai – one plate at a time.

We invite you to join us as we tell our stories through food and shine a light on allergy and health issues affecting Pasifika and Māori communities.
